Addiction can affect anyone, and everyone deserves to get the help they need to recover, which is why we make sure all of North Carolina can access us through our online outpatient rehab services. If you’re struggling to reduce your alcohol or drug use, it might be time to explore your treatment options.

Eleanor Health provides virtual addiction treatment in North Carolina. We are an outpatient program for substance use disorders (SUDs) with a whole-person approach to treatment. Our services include medication-assisted treatment, counseling and peer support. By treating not just the physical, but the mental and emotional aspects of addiction, we foster long-term recovery for our community members in NC.

At Eleanor, recovery is driven by goals you set. This is your journey, and we are committed to supporting you each step of the way.

What We Do: MAT Treatment, Counseling, and Support

Substance use disorders can be very challenging because the brain adapts to drugs or alcohol over time, and this comes with very real physical symptoms. That’s why medication-assisted treatment (MAT) helps set the stage for lasting recovery. These medications ease cravings and reduce withdrawal symptoms, allowing you to better focus on treatment. Combined with counseling and peer support, MAT increases the chances of a safer, more successful recovery. We offer therapy, addiction medication, and other support for everyone, whether you are part of our online rehab or attending our clinics in Durham and Hickory.

We provide MAT and addiction treatment for:

Frequently Asked Questions

Addiction treatment is crucial in North Carolina due to the significant impact substance use disorders have on our communities. Recent data shows that over 1.5 million North Carolinians need substance use treatment, with many unable to access the care they need. The state faces particular challenges with both alcohol use disorder, affecting approximately 870,000 residents, and drug use disorders, impacting 709,000 people.

The opioid crisis has hit North Carolina especially hard, with four of the nation’s top 25 cities for opioid abuse located in our state. Nearly 12 North Carolinians lose their lives to drug overdoses each day, with opioids involved in 80% of these deaths. This crisis affects all demographics but is particularly challenging in rural areas, where 52 counties lack adequate access to treatment centers.

This is why Eleanor Health’s combination of in-person and virtual addiction treatment services is so vital. By offering accessible care through both our physical locations and online platforms, we’re working to bridge the treatment gap and ensure that everyone in North Carolina who needs help can receive it, regardless of their location or circumstances.

Different stages of recovery may require different levels of comprehensive care. Addiction treatment centers offer several options to match your specific needs and circumstances:

Inpatient treatment provides 24/7 medical care in a hospital setting, which is often necessary for alcohol detox or when more intensive support is needed.

Residential treatment offers a structured living environment with full-time therapeutic programming for those who benefit from around-the-clock support.

As an outpatient treatment provider, Eleanor Health offers flexible care that works around your daily life, allowing you to maintain work and family commitments while receiving treatment.

While we specialize in outpatient services, we understand everyone’s journey is different. If you need a higher level of care first, we’ll help connect you with trusted providers who can support those early stages of recovery.

Your journey to recovery deserves a treatment approach that’s as unique as you are. That’s why our interdisciplinary team combines evidence-based treatment with personalized support to help you heal and grow. Our treatment team works together to provide the tools you need, from individual counseling sessions that address your specific challenges to family therapy that helps rebuild and strengthen relationships.

We use proven therapeutic approaches that help you develop practical life skills, manage stress, and build a stronger foundation for lasting recovery. Whether you choose virtual or in-person care at our North Carolina locations, you’ll have access to both individual therapy sessions and group support, creating a comprehensive care experience that fits your life and goals.

Co-occurring mental health conditions, also known as dual diagnosis, happen when someone experiences both a substance use disorder and mental health challenges at the same time. Research suggests that more than 40% of people with a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring disorder. Common examples include:

  • Depression or anxiety alongside alcohol abuse
  • PTSD combined with substance abuse
  • Bipolar disorder with drug abuse
  • Attention deficit disorders with substance abuse

These conditions often influence each other, which is why treating both simultaneously through our integrated approach leads to better outcomes. Many people find that addressing underlying mental health disorders is a crucial part of their recovery journey.
