What your first Eleanor appointment is actually like

Back to what to expect
No judgment
Fully confidential
No commitment on day one
Virtual from wherever you are

Quick version (so you know what you’re walking into)

Your first visit is a conversation. That’s it.

  • No commitment
  • No pressure to decide anything
  • No need to have the “right” answers

You’ll talk with a real person about what’s been going on and what kind of help might actually work for you.

What actually happens during the visit

Here’s how it usually goes:

1
Meet with a nurse (30–40 minutes)
If a nurse is available before you see your provider, they’ll start by asking questions, gathering information, and learning about what kind of support you’re looking for.
2
You meet your clinician (45–60 minutes)
This is the main part. You talk about what’s been going on, as much or as little as you want.
3
You talk through options
If you want to keep going, you and your clinician can talk through next steps and what support might look like.

That’s it. No pressure to commit to anything.

Can I ask about medication?

Yes.

If you’re wondering about treatment options (including medication like Suboxone) you can talk about that in your first visit.

You don’t have to figure anything out ahead of time. That’s what this appointment is for.

Do I need to stop using before my appointment?

No.

You don’t need to have everything figured out or be in a perfect place before showing up.

This is a starting point, not a test.

Will anyone find out?

No.

Your care is private.

The only exceptions Rare legal situations involving immediate safety, which are the same narrow exceptions that apply to all healthcare providers.

What will this cost me?

If you have insurance (including Medicaid), there’s a good chance your visit is covered or low-cost.

If you’re curious about exact costs and coverage, you can always call your insurance company directly. If you’re not sure what to ask or just want a general sense of where to start, we’re happy to help point you in the right direction.

You don’t need to have this all figured out.

You don’t need the right words. You don’t need a plan. You don’t even need to be sure this is the right fit.

Just showing up is enough.

Ready, or just ready enough?
